ABOUT US

James Kent got his start while finishing his BA at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois, USA.  The fine city of Chicago offered many opportunities for the up and coming audio engineer including WCFC-TV, Media Control and nationally distributed radio programming through Moody Memorial church.

 

After freelancing in the audio industry for a total of eight years, James Kent founded JK Sound Studios in 2002.  With his degree in communications and a vast array of experience in and out of the studio, James brings exceptional talent and finely honed skills to the company.

Since this quiet beginning, the name of JK Sound Studios grew steadily as James worked alongside the late Ted Marshall of Marshall Arts Productions. His passing in the summer of 2018 was a blow both professionally and personally.

 

James joined the Computer Sciences Unit of McMaster University, Faculty of Health Sciences as an AV/IT Specialist in 2009. 

 

James resides in Caledonia with his wife and five children.
